These Terms & Conditions (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”) are applicable to all the Participants/ Winners of Sun Marathi – Bagha Roj Jinka Rokh – Watch and Win Prizes Contest.- (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest”) Promoted / Organized By M/s. Sun TV Network Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “STNL”). These Rules can be amended or varied from time to time by STNL.

  1. (i) Contest Period: The Contest starts on 27th February, 2023 (Monday) at 8.30 pm and ends on 4 March, 2023 (Saturday) at 11 pm.
    1. (ii) Contest Dates: 27th February, 2023 to 4 March, 2023.
    2. (iii) Contest hours: would commence from 8.30 pm i.e. the start time of the ‘Serial of the Month/ Maharashtrachi Mahamalika’ i.e. ‘Kanyadan’ and shall be valid till 11:00 pm on all Contest days. This Contest is applicable only to the Viewers of “Sun Marathi”.
  2. The term "Serial of the Month/Maharashtrachi Mahamalika" refers to a television series that is selected for a particular month as part of a contest on Sun Marathi. The chosen series for the month of March, 2023 is Kanyadan.
  3. Only residents of the state of Maharashtra who are 18 years of age or older are eligible to participate in the Contest. Participants who are under the age of 18 are not allowed to enter the contest unless they have obtained express consent from their parent or legal guardian. In such cases, both the child and their parent or legal guardian shall be held fully responsible for complying with the rules of the contest.
  4. During the Contest Period, STNL shall present a total of six questions spread over one per day, with one question per show, which will only be aired during the first week of each month. These questions will be presented to viewers of the Serial of the Month or termed as “Maharashtrachi Mahamalika”. Participants will need to pay careful attention to each episode of the Serial of the Month or termed as “Maharashtrachi Mahamalika” during the first of each month to ensure that they are able to answer the six questions correctly and thus be eligible to win any prizes that may be on offer during the Contest Period.
  5. During the Contest Period, a single question shall be asked every day, each with a minimum of two answer options - for example, options A and B. Each answer option shall be associated with a specific contact number which will be displayed on the screen during the Contest Period. In order to participate, Participants must give a missed call to the contact number associated with the correct answer. By doing so, they will confirm their participation in the contest.
  6. The participants calling the incorrect answer’s phone number for each day of the contest will be treated as invalid and shall be summarily rejected. The participants calling the correct answers’ phone number will be treated as valid and will be added to a Selected Participant list. This Selected Participant list will enter into a randomizer and a fixed number of winners from the said list will be selected.
  7. The participants have to send the correct answers within 11 pm on the same day. For Eg: If the contest question for the show “Kanyadan” is asked on 27th March at 8:23 pm, the answers have to be sent on 27th March (i.e., same day) before 11 pm, to be eligible to enter the lucky draw for winning the prize.
  8. Participants can make any number of Missed Calls to participate in the contest. More number of Missed Calls does not mean the chance of winning is higher. STNL will consider only the first correct entry from one number as the valid answer.
  9. STNL shall not be responsible in any way for failure of any backend technology of any applications and resultant inability of a Paricipant for participation.
  10. A total of 100 (hundred) winners from amongst the Correct Entries on each day for six days in a month, therefore 600 (Six Hundred) winners for the contest period will be selected the winners will be randomly chosen and only the selected winners will be informed by STNL. During the contest period, a single participant is limited to winning once per month.
  11. The winners of the contest shall be given a cash prize worth INR 1000 per winner. A total of INR 6,00,000 (INR Six Lakhs only) per shall be provided during the period of the contest.
  12. All the winners shall be eligible to enter into the lucky draw for winning the prize amount in which the randomizer shall run among all the participants who have answered correctly and within the given timeline.  
  13. The winners will be chosen as per the sole discretion of STNL and only the selected winners will be informed by our STNL Team.
  14. STNL shall assume no responsibility or liability in the event that the winner or winners are not contactable on the day on which the results are declared. STNL shall make a maximum of two attempts to contact each winner. In the event that the winner or winners cannot be contacted, STNL shall not be held liable for the efforts made in this regard. It shall be the sole responsibility of the winner or winners to ensure that their contact information is accurate and up to date, and that they are available to be contacted on the day of the results. Furthermore, STNL reserves the right to disqualify any winner who cannot be contacted or who fails to comply with the terms and conditions of the contest. In such cases, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner, as determined by STNL in its sole discretion.
  15. The winners for the daily contest will be announced after a gap of two days (i.e. for questions asked on 27th March, the winners will be declared on 29th March) on “Sun Marathi” during the period of the contest or as determined by STNL.
  16. The winner shall be solely responsible for the payment of any and all taxes and other applicable considerations related to the winning prize. In the event that STNL is required to deduct any applicable taxes, it shall do so without further notice to the winner. The winner shall be notified of any deductions or liabilities by the STNL Team, but such notification shall not absolve the winner of their responsibilities in this regard.
  17. The winner may produce valid Photo ID and Address proof to receive the prize. They must also accept/sign the Terms and Conditions before accepting the prize. Failure to follow STNL's directions may result in cancellation and forfeiture of the prize. The prize amount will be disbursed through an online payment method to the winner's declared bank account, using their mobile number, UPI ID, or Bank Account with IFSC Code. The disbursement time will be at STNL's sole discretion. STNL is not responsible for any delays in announcing winners due to circumstances beyond its control. All the costs and expenses for collecting the prize will be borne solely by the winner and STNL shall not entertain any claim, whatsoever in this regard.
  18. The prize shall be non-transferable, non-negotiable and are non-encashable and no such request shall be entertained by STNL. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, STNL reserves the sole right to offer an alternative prize of the same value.
  19. Employees of STNL and its affiliates/subsidiaries, sponsors of the prizes, associated agencies, participating operators and their immediate family members and relatives are not eligible to participate in this contest.
  20. STNL is not liable for any loss or damage suffered by participants or winners during the Contest. Failure by STNL to enforce any of these Rules does not waive their right to enforce them at a later time. The Contest is subject to Indian law and any disputes arising from it will be resolved through arbitration under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, with a sole arbitrator. The arbitration proceedings will take place in English at a venue in Chennai, and any interim reliefs sought under arbitration will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Chennai city.
  21. If a participant intentionally attempts to damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest and/or website, it shall be considered a violation of Criminal and Civil Laws. In such an event, STNL retains the right to seek damages from the participant to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  22. STNL may use participants'/winners' entries, names, likeness, voice, or statements in promotional activities and advertise the winners of the Contest. These entries, which may include photo, video, film sessions, the names, likeness, voice, or statements of participants/winners, shall be the sole property of STNL and may be used for promotional and/or commercial purposes. By participating in the Contest, participants/winners waive all rights in favor of STNL.
  23. In case of any dispute or difference in respect of the prize/ selection of winners, the decision of STNL shall be final and binding on all concerned.
  24. Apart from the above-mentioned prize/prizes, nothing else will be provided to the winner.
  25. All prizes shall be claimed by the winners, accompanied with documents if any specified herein below, from STNL within 7 days from the date of announcing of the Winners on the channel. The documents required to be submitted along with the claim by the winner includes the following (the document list is only indicative and not exhaustive and STNL shall be entitled to request the participant/winner to produce such other document/s from the winner as it may deem fit to its sole and absolute satisfaction: (i) Identity Proof, (ii)Address Proof and (iii) PAN Card. STNL at its sole discretion may also waive production of any of the aforesaid documents.
  26. Failure to claim the prize within the aforesaid 7 days period may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize and/or declaration of alternate winner which is at the sole discretion of STNL.
  27. STNL, its vendor and/or its subsidiaries shall not be liable to any person or entity for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including loss or profits, incurred by the winner or any third party, whether in connection with this contest, or for breach of any warranty or in tort.
  28. STNL, its vendors and its subsidiaries shall not be responsible for any claim/s arising out of any technical failure/s either before, during, or after the completion of the Contest including but not limited to any technical failures in the telephone lines, failure of servers or the failure to provide the correct contest score updates or any mistakes arising out of technical snags. Further, STNL shall not be responsible for any claims arising out of any failure(s) which are beyond the control of STNL or its vendors.
  29. This Contest is subject to force majeure circumstances i.e. an act of God or any circumstance beyond the control of STNL.
  30. The Contest is valid subject to the winner complying with all terms, conditions and/or formalities as required by STNL. Any failure on the part of the Contestant/winner to comply with the any specified term, condition and/or formality shall render the Contestant/winner liable for disqualification at the sole discretion of STNL.
  31. This Contest is subject to guidelines/ directions issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India or any other statutory authority/ies from time to time.
  32. STNL reserves the right to extend, cancel, discontinue, prematurely withdraw, change, alter or modify this offer or any part thereof including the eligibility criteria, at its sole discretion at any time during its validity as may be required in view of business exigencies and/or changes by regulatory authority and/or statutory changes and the same shall be binding on the Contestant/winner .
  33. STNL is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of participant information collected in connection with any contest or competition organized by STNL. STNL may collect participant information such as name, address, phone number, and email address for the purpose of conducting the contest or competition and for facilitating communication with the participant. STNL will not use participant information for any purpose other than the contest or competition, except as required by law.
  34. STNL complies with all applicable privacy laws in India, including but not limited to the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. STNL takes all necessary precautions to protect participant information and to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure of such information.
  35. STNL is not responsible for any unauthorized access or disclosure of participant information that is beyond the control of STNL. Participants acknowledge and agree that the use of participant information is at their own risk.
  36. STNL reserves the right to modify this Privacy and Participant Information Clause at any time, and such changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the STNL website. Participants are encouraged to review this clause periodically to stay informed about STNL's privacy practices.
  37. STNL hereby declares that it is in compliance with the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Copyright Act, 1957, as well as any other applicable laws and regulations.
  38. STNL reserves the right to change/modify/amend the terms and conditions of the Prize at any time at its sole discretion.
  39. STNL, in its absolute discretion reserves the right at any time, without giving any prior notice to the participants, to add, alter, modify, change or vary all or any of these terms & conditions, wholly or in part, or to withdraw the contest
  40. By participating in any contest or competition organized by STNL, participants acknowledge that they have read and understood these rules, and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.
